There are high end stores in any market and they survive because there are enough upscale buyers . There are thrift stores and flea markets with their own clientele too. There is always a demand for both types. Sometimes you pick up great stuff on a second hand sale, an antique piece may be. This is true to any market. More so in the net market. The primary requirement for e-business is acquiring an address in the web world. It may not be possible always to find a valuable or generic name in the primary market. There is a secondary market, small sellers who may have valuable names.

Sedo’s domain market study 2008 shows that of the sale in the year 76% are dot com, 9% dot net,7% dot info. 5% dot org and 3% dot biz names .While 45% was sold on offers & counter offers, 40% in market place,5% as external transfers,5% by brokers 3% at special ‘themed’ auctions and 2% as fixed price domains.There are plenty of dot com, good dot com names still available. As time goes by Internet users and net business is rapidly growing posing a great need for more and more domain names.

As we see and hear stories of many losing millions turning into paupers, we also hear of ’slum dog millionaires’ hitting head lines. Recession is as much a part of any social structure as is growth.After all mankind has survived for many many centuries. This is the time to sow. Sure, a good harvest is assured in times to come. Domains will go up in value faster than any other commodity ever known to man.
